In the 2004 election, all but one of the major TV networks used Flash interfaces to display real-time election data. Instant data and accurate data… kind of like AJAX on steriods which also happens to look graphically pleasing
Here is a link to a NY Times Flash page which does the same for this evening’s results:
NY Times election coverage
I do find it fascinating though, when you go to fox, nbc, cbs, abc, etc., they have decided to not have a prominent link to the results of todays election results. Am I missing something here? Should not the results of the local/state/national election today be a major news story… hmmmmm.
When I view ABC’s main page I see this:

WOW, this is really non-impressive. I am just a dumb old Mac user so I don’t know what Windows 98 or NT are
You would think that employees at at a multi-national corporation with the resources at their disposal would have the technical/testing skills to ensure that this type of error would not occur? Perhaps a talented Foothill web-type student should be employed to fix this!
Get out and VOTE… it really is important!

November 2nd, 2006
I need to leave town early this evening to deal with a personal family matter, thus I will not be able to meet with the Thursday evening Intro to Flash class tonight… Thursday November 2.
The materials are available on-line where I ask you to complete two chapters from the text introducing you to buttons and Movieclips.
We will have to spend a little extra time next week catching up as we have the “big topic” of creating interactivity with buttons and clips.
See you next week, and if you have questions let me know. I plan on returning sometime Friday but I will have some Internet access when away.
